Just beautiful. I love the atmospherics. Is it all HV? HV+sytracer? Care to let us in on the secret? Great modeling! The only (very slight) criticisim I could offer is the wings looked at first glance like they were something sticking into the gargoyle rather than something sticking out of him. Maybe if they attached in a somewhat more complex way (I'm getting the coolest images of stone tendons here)? Did you add the shadows on the lower body in post with PS? Great stuff all around!

right about the wings. and there also seems to be some lighting issues on the edges on the model... Very nice, I like the dark colours although I would like some more saturation on this dude...

Beautiful picture, no doubt. But you could try to light the scene a little different. To get rid of all thoose large "grey" and "flat" areas on the model, coz its such a great modell! So you should try adding more lights from different angles,with maybe different colours and strength. A little more "radiosity"-feel to it...even though you dont have to use radiosity. Otherwise, really great!
