sorry, I havn't got a clue about your scanner/printer probs - I just like your drawings :-)

First off, LOVE your illustrations!!! Yay!!! Now about the scans...if the paper is too thin, and the scanner light is bleeding through, try adding blank whiter paper sheets to the back while scanning? I would keep the settings to photo, and make sure the contrast is low and the resolution high, like 16-bit or higher. You can always correct scans later in an image program (Levels etc..) Many people make the mistake of trying to optimize the image source, when they don't really need to. Even those who don't have PhotoShop, or Paintshop Pro, can download "Good" freeware image edting programs. The most important thing is to capture all the info, even if it looks dark. This looks like some sort of "Clipping", possibly from a contrast adjustment?

i think Eric has the solution.. what the scanner is picking up is possibly the oil off your hand or just too thin.. adding a backing should do it :] ..always enjoy your drawings.. you should get paid & go pro! ;]

Yes, backing should help. And Eric has it all together there. As always, your illustrations are off the chart great.

its primarily a color depth issue if you save in .gif you can only get 256 colors, try png or jpg and up the range. with thin paper it might be good to add a blanco paper behind the drawing.

I was ready to talk about this "backing" solution and, as I can see, I'm not the only one. I'm pretty sure it should solve the most of the errors we can see there! Cheers...

Lovely sketches these. Colour adds a lot to them. Hope the scanner trouble is sorted, backing the pics with thicker paper is what i'd have tried first

Reading the comments I hope you have found already a way to prevent your scans from being affected by these factors. Your drawings are so beautiful, love to see your very own style! Gorgeous work, Rozanne, I hope you'll manage to get the scans like you wish to have them! :)
