Not bad at all for starters. One thing, when making the clouds and using the 3D feature, don't extend your clouds to high. TG does a terrible job of clouds period, but with the 3D on and if you make them really tall they just distort horribly. Keep them around 10 thickness or under, keep your cloud render sliders all the way over to the right and if you have the Reg. TG make sure your Extra and Ultra Blend are on to get all the best possible blending.

I still have one of my very early images on disk and I look at it every once in awhile just to scare myself - But nothing scary here, if this is your 1st! Yes, atmo & water are hard to get "right". It's good to twist all the knobs, just to see what does and does not "work". Any questions, just ask. Good luck!

I can see from your gallery that you are an accomplished 2d artist, and welcome to the TG gallery. As Rich says constant fiddling with the knobs is one of the best ways to learn. I would also download a third party terrain generator like World Machine (I think you can still get a free version) as the Terragen generator has its limitations. Try and avoid those cones/pinnacles in your terrain. The lighting is very good in this scene, and that icy water isn't half bad either. A very commendable first effort, far surpassing mine.
