Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Super capture of the family outing :)

Ah, what a motley crew (LOL), just kidding Jan! It is - after all - April Fool's Day, my one chance a year to joke on that level. Actually, it is wonderful to see some of your family members, even moreso knowing you are all sharing this hike together. I'd love to do something like that with my relatives. The only problem? I'm the only avid hiker in the family! Anyway, splendid capture my friend. I wish each and every one of you a fantastic time!

I know what you mean. I consider this types of shots more the private ones and I always feel a bit awkward when I post one.. But the shot sure has potential..for sure it has in the future when al has become a memory from a long time ago.

Ah, the intrepid adventurers! The composition here has an almost 19th-Century mood about it -- it would look fabulous in sepia tones, I'm sure!

Great family photo, Jan-Carel. I agree that this would look good in sepia as an Old-West photo from the U.S. Well done.

I wrote a long comment on this the other night, and lost it. :^( And I got so upset I shut my pc and went away in a huff, lol. So what did I say...I said i thought it was wonderful that your family hikes together!Wow.That's such a great thing. But most of all,I think it's wonderful to see this side of you.It personalizes your gallery.I hope one day, you'll be in your nineties,(still with your cam),and you will have all these children running around you,and you'll tell them of all the wonderful things you found on your family hikes long ago.But lol,I'm getting sentimental.Lovely and thanks for sharing this slice of your life JC.

Dit is juist wat ik leuk vind - mensen in een landschap. Je weet dat ik al je foto's apprecieer. Voortreffelijk!
