Description
The rusty metal door that you can see a tiny bit of in that door opening is the door to the boiler room at Scarsdale Hall. Or to be correct, the boiler room to the church next door.
In the old days when their were people living at the Hall, there was a corridor to the church from the Hall that used to be just just inside that door opening (not in the boiler room...the other door). Hmm....confused yet? :p
Anyways, it was indoors and the Earl of Scardale, Nicholas Leke, never had to use his umbrella to get in touch with his maker. Nifty eh?
That is also the only part of the ruin where there's a piece of some very old floor tiles visible still. They are simply black and white and obviously not valuble enough to sell when they stripped the Hall in the end of the 30's.
Ok...enuf history for now :)
Glad you liked my sign yesterday. Not sure why but I have a feeling that I've posted that one twice. Need to take a look through my gallery I think.
And thanks for taking a peek at this one :D

Very good photo. The contrast in colours is very good. This is really poster quality you can hang on your wall.
