Description

The winds continously shape this landscape and as long as people are not walking here the structures remain intact. It is amazing to see all those thin fragile layers of sand, with sharp edges. These days I will visit your galleries but I will add only comments on a few occassions. The loss of friends leaving here affected me and it would not be fair to leave enthusiastic comments while I feel sad about the things happening here. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 70 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

A poignant image Jan-Carel.I understand how you feel, but I really have to agree with Denger. The only thing that is constant,is that there will always be change. If I go back to my gallery 6 months ago, more than half of those people are gone...the only difference is no one noticed...they just left quietly...

The sand is so wonderful, it would be a shame to put a footprint on it. The nice thing about it is that the wind will cover it up and start a new pattern. Lovely shot.

I also have noticed the disappearance of quite a few people here. It is a sad thing and I totally understand how you feel. Beautiful image.

A stunning image of your beautiful island Jan-Carel! Love those beautiful designs and the sand looks even whiter and finer in this picture!! I just adore walking on beaches like this in my bare feet. :-) Thank you for bringing us all smiles even when you are so sad. (((Hugs))) I hope your friends return soon! But..if they don't, you still have us... :-) V

I too feel your pain..I wish you a speedy recovery, as we all feel a sense of loss. I hope that the rest of us will be able to carry on the legacy that was left by some of the old timers here who have departed. Change is a good thing sometimes, but not without it's price...Stay well my friend! Aloha!

I love the lines in the sand. It's slowly moving downhill. Here, as in life, gravity always wins.
