Description

Hi folks. This is just a little pic I took of Grover the world-traveler.He had just come from England and is now on his way to Hawaii! And lol,I know it's not great art,but I think it's kind of cute.Hope you like it. I want to thank you all,for the wonderful things you guys said on my last upload.I had felt my pic needed text of some sort, and after fruitlessly searching the web for an appropriate quote or saying,I gave up and decided to write my own. I used to love to write poetry...in fact,I wrote throughout all my teen years...Then when I went to college I saw a course offered in poetry/creative writing. So I took it...Big mistake!!!I found nothing killed my creative impulse faster than being forced to write...a boring, unispiring teacher, and a roomful of classmates ready to tear my work to shreds, lol. And something happened...I found I didn't want to write anymore...and i didn't.Not until last week, that is.And that's more years than I care to mention! So thank you.It felt good to write again...and it meant a lot to me that you guys liked it! It's sad to say,but unfortunately there are some horrible teachers out there.BUT there are also amazing ones...ones that make you think, that inspire you,and make you interested in something you were never interested in before.I had one like that...and I will never forget him.He was probably the most brilliant person I have ever met or will ever meet. And he always made me laugh as well. His name was Dr.Howard Crouch and he was my 10th grade Biology teacher. So I dedicate this little pic to him...and all the wonderful teachers out there who have had a positive impact on our lives. If you had a teacher like that, send them a little bit of good vibes and a silent thank you today. They deserve it. Take care everyone. Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may wish to leave.I always appreciate knowing what you think. Marlene :^) PS Sorry for this ridiculously long ramblefest.I promise to write nothing next time, lol. ;^)

I think it is totally cute! The photography is excellent as well. Being in college, I fully understand what you mean about good teachers and bad....have had experience with both.

Hi Grover! You know you have an important mission: To get Marlene continue weiting, because she is sooo good at it!! I know that is why you looks so happy on this shot. Sun is shining and you are on the shore, well that's good enough, but poetry is an even better reason for joy! Hugs to the world traveller, and to Marlene!!!!

Up to his neck in sand I see...well it's just the begining or him playing in the sand. I hope to show him some of our fine beaches here, I hope he doesn't miss NY to much..Thanks for sending him here for a little vacation, I'll show him a good time soon as he gets here, if I can pry him away from all the women~ Great shot by the way! Aloha to you!

A nice eye-opener question remained in my mind reading this, asking 'what teacher do you remember the best?' - isn't this person(s) the one(s) who were the most enthusiastic about what they taught, even if it were nothing but boring though! Original work!

I don't think it was a ramble-fest. I was inspired by it! I am a music teacher and we teachers always wonder if any of our students think about us EVER and if we maybe made any ripples in their lives. I actually had a kid in the navy email me to thank me for teaching him how to love music. So I LOVE this dedication. Thanks for the thoughts. :0)
