What a wonderful rendition of a tulip(?) Was it genuine raindrops or did you help it with a little sprayer. This is no criticism if you did.

thanks very kindly, Jack... yes, the raindrops are real. Of course, I arrived at the arboretum with four umbrellas... all ~at home~, and had to find the gift shop to buy yet another umbrella to add to my collection. Maybe this one will stay in the truck?! .. :)

It seems to have received Cavalier treatment - in the nicest sense of the term. Flowers are difficult to photography well and possibly because of the slenderness of the supporting stem. Here the close arrangement of the leaf helps immensely.

well.. nice but postwork done in photoshop left some traces: magnetic lasso tool is good but left bg rests (they have to removed to improve work) which looks unfine. also the bg and the composition is quite banal( maybe off centered composition, macro shot or interesting background would make it better). Try to improve color balance and contrast. i am sorry for telling this but i suppose You want to be better photographer and with whole respect i wanted to leave You some tips. i also make photos and i am amatour http://silenblues.deviantart.com/gallery so my oppinion has probably less value but all the rest comments seem to 'overvalue' this pic. forgive me my honest.
