Description

For my Father who passed away Tuesday April 4th, 2006. He was known as "Papa Jack" to all the children he read story books to at Blue Ridge Elementary School for the past 13 years, many of the first children he read to have children that he was reading to recently. He was loved by all and when I went to the school yesterday, it took me three hours talking to all the children and teachers that appreciated and loved him. I will miss him dearly as they will!!!!!!!! Jack S. MacVittie, a well known resident of Pinetop has passed to eternal rest. Jack was born in Niagra Falls, NY, Oct. 27, 1923, to Roy S. & Ruth MacVittie. Jack entered the Army Air Corps. at the age of 19 and served 22 years through WWII, and two tours in Viet Nam. His service in the Air Force brought him to Chandler where he retired and then worked in management for Spreckels Sugar for 15 years. He eventually built his beloved cabin in Pinetop where he finished his life. Jack belonged to several organizations including the Air Force Sgt. Assoc., Wht. Mt. VFW Post 9907, the Everex Alumni Assoc. and St. Mary

Wonderful floral . now to the heart of it. I know how hard it is to lose a parent as i am still grieving my Fathers passing. my heart and prayers and well as love go out to you and your family. he sounds like he was such a special and dear man to give so freely of himself to the children, my love to you and big hug . take care and one day at a time. love, kimarie
