BIO
I started landscape generation with terragen in 1999 and found it very easy to create landscapes with that program. I enjoy viewing landscapes and seeing the detail in them. I often see the dialogue boxes in Vue6 opening up before me when I see a sunset or terrain, trying to figure out how I would recreate them in Vue, how sad is that!!!
I have always taken photgraphs but never uploaded any to this site, instead prefering to use this profile to showcase my digital works. I have decided to upload some of my photography to this site but most of my photography is on deviant art. I have recently moved from Aberdeen, Scotland to Telford, England.

I think it's wonderful, provocative, brooding. Reminds me of the spiritual quality of nature often invisible to the naked eye. But, so what, if you don't like it! Can't imagine what better you had in mind. A keeper!

An excellent render.

An excellent composition. I love the stony terrain and the trees in the forground. Also the atmosphere.

Well done :)

Very beautiful landscape. Excellent work!

This is excellent. Shame about your render times. I'd suggest looking throught the Vue "back room" forums here for some render tweaks. Lots of fog & high transparency water will send render times through the roof. Great Image "V".

Beautiful work! The lighting is still fantastic. Great composition - the foreground is gorgeous

As lingrif said, the foreground is gorgeous. I have the same speed PC, 3 days is absolutely crazy for a render, I am happy you waited it out because this is a very nice image.

Missed this one earlier - excellent picture. My PC is about the same speed, 1 GB RAM, but I don't have the same problems, it seems. Complex scenes (like my latest one) will render in less than 10 hrs with GI. You may want to look at the settings in the quality slider, reduce it to -1. It has little effect on the appearance in nature scenes like this one, but for more "civilized" scenes with buildings and close-up characters etc. the GI becomes "dirty" with low settings. I'd never try radiosity in a complex nature scene. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Bigbraader....The challenge I had was that I wanted the hazy feel and therefore was forced to have some atmospherics there, and the minute they are there one is almost forced to have the higher settings, otherwise the haze looks terrible. The difference between radiosity and GI was such that the difference was much better with radiosity, noticeably so, aprticularly in the atmosphere and crispness of the image. I have no doubt that the render times can be reduced to "the norm" but the image "feel" was also reduced with the lower settings, hence putting up with a 3 day render. Once again thankyou all for your great comments. Renderosity is truly a fabulous place!

3 days - oh my goodness! You must be a very patient guy. ;) But I have to admit that the waiting definately paid off - brilliantly looking scene. I'm really impressed! :)))
