Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Incredible this one Jan-Carel ! It's really very impressive and so lovely to see all the stratifications of this sand. I hope that nobody try to destroy that... It must be very fragile I think ? I like the light and the shadows, adding another dimension to this shot. Well done my friend. Have a wonderful sunday. Hugs. V

Like each sand has its own ionic charge attracting to each other holding and forming this little castle of sand till an outside force breaks its bonding. Poof, and its gone. Beautiful capture of natures best. Aloha

Amazing, the performance of nature! The shaping of cliffs, the sculpting of canyons, the forming of cave structures... you can see it all here in miniature, and in a fraction of the time.. Love to see these shots, wonderful work, Jan-Carel!!

Looking at that sand really does get your mind wandering around a bit. My imagination starts running wild.... thinking of all sorts of things. Nature sure does like to throw a curve ball at us once in awhile, just to keep us on our toes. This is really beautiful to sit and study. Marvelous, my dear!!!
