Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

I know I've enjoyed this trip immensely and I'm not even related to you.... I think. My family all gather at an old cottage and sit around talking with each other for days.

Nice family and boat, Jan-Carel. I have been busy with the run up to Easter, so have skipped many gallery images. Mea culpa! We all have our blessings to count, and you seem to get great photos wherever you point that lens. The other day I was gardening ( okay trying to weed ) at my mother-in-law's house. The sun was out and I was busy watching a big fat bee, momentarily ignoring the weeds. The bee was the second I have seen this Spring. Suddenly it started snowing. The bee ignored the snow and continued to fly around the bush in front of me. That would have made a great shot if my hands had not been so mucky, and my knees threatening to lock up!! Thank God that I still have the memory, though.. Have a Joyful Easter. Regards, John.

I agree, when on a boat you really can't run off. You are forced to catch up with each other and that can be a very good thing. I'm so glad to get together with my family and this looked like a great opportunity for you to spend some quality time together...thanks for sharing! Aloha!
