Description

This brave little fellow was encountered in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. He would scamper up, then retreat, repeating the process continously and getting a little closer each time. A couple of times he ran across my feet. Visitors aren't supposed to feed the animals, and certainly I didn't mean to, but I must have dropped a bit of my food because it looks very much like what he's eating. An unintended positive reinforcement... Hopefully no future visitors will harm him for his friendliness. Comments are always appreciated.

He sure looks cute now, but if you wouldn't have dropped the food, he'd have lunged for your throat and knocked you off the side of the arch! ;-)

there was several in Valley of Fire, Nevada near a parking area. I am sure people feed them and they rummage through the trash cans. excellent capture of this cute rodent. I seen a very large fat crow at Grand canyon that must not have missed any meals from tourists
