Description

The sun starts to shine while we are investigating these trees. The contrasts change dramatically and I decide to shoot another picture before we continue our way to the Hasbruch forest. Minolta X-700 (Agfa 100 CTi, 70 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Really strange trees/roots in this area - I assume this is a different tree from yesterday - and that this strange phenomenon is created by the gradual erosion of the soil which forces the trees to sink their roots deeper after they have been exposed, thus leaving a tree on stilts... Excellent capture of an unusual occurence.

I wonder what this place looked like when this tree started growing? Notice that the tree on the right does not have these raised roots. Something very transient was there when this tree started growing.

Amazing tree! I do love trees and this one is so interesting. I've never seen anything like this before. It's incredible that it doesn't topple over but the roots seem like they are up and holding it balanced. :-) Excellent find!
