Description
Hi everybody, this one is the second work per indoor environment study with radiosity. From the previous experience, at this time, I have used only one point light, for radiosity compute, nevertheless the render time has been terribly long (6 days). I have had to raise the "Quality boost" up to +4, for remove each artifact. Also this time I have drawn inspiration from a great picture on the web by federico max, see you : http://www.3dlinks.com/gallery_fullview.cfm?id=12472
Some notes:
in this scene there are 6 lights globally: one point light for the chandelier, (this is the only source light defined for radiosity compute), 4 points light for the applique, one spot light to simulate a window source light (on the left). The scene is built and closed entirely in a box. All modelled with Vue primitive and boolean functions. Flowers by Planit3D, crystal vase and TUT busts by web. None postwork.
For other technical notes you can see my previous pic (indoor_#2_day), they are very similar.
There is a lot to study and to learn for the illumination of insides, I am only to the beginning.
Vue 5 can't arrive the VRay or Maxuell Render levels, but it have a lot of quality, it needs to discover them and the satisfactions they won't miss.
Thanks for view and comments.
Luigi.

6 DAYS?!! It is an absolutely fabulous render, but 6 DAYS?!! I thought 6 hours was stretching it. Your PC definitely deserves a holiday.

Remarkable work Luigi.

Excellent work, I haven't tried an indoor render yet but this looks very good, at six days you won't be doing many test renders LoL. Chris

that is excellent but, 6 days!? i think i know why it took so long. Either you have the a 386 processor with 2 megs of ram or those boolean objects are causing the problem. I use Cinema 4D and when I use tons of boolean objects the render time goes through the roof or just locks up. try modeling using a different method just to see if that is the case. Otherwise great job! ;)

Well the difference in quality is not so big as the difference in price compared to VRay.. 6 Day rendertime seems to be a lot, i never had more then 30hs with very complex scenes and HDRI plus GR... Awesome work and thanks for the infos! ~Uwe

The high render time is caused for sure, by "Quality boost" up to + 4 for radiosity lighting, with superior render mode. It's crazy, I know, but my purpose is probe the deepness of Vue 5. Ciao!

6 days.... wow. The picture is fantastic. Possibly the most photorealistic Vue image I've ever seen. Well done.

Not bad at all. I find indoor lighting so very difficult to create, but you seem to know exactly how to do it. Excellent work!
