Hello, I'm PunkClown...the one being held by the ugly dude...Good disguise huh? I used to be (a long, long time ago) a moderator at Renderosity, in the 2D Graphics Forum. Now my life offline is so busy that I only get a chance to pop by every now and then, but I still think of Renderosity as the first place I discovered like-minded friends on the net and realised the potential of online communities.BIOI started dabbling in computer arts what seems like eons ago now, when I invested in a Commodore Amiga 1000, it's still in working order, but has been retired for a while now. Traditional and Computer Graphics is a bit of a passion of mine and I have a bloated hard-drive and depleted bank account to prove it!
I have an online presence at notReality.org

Another nice one. Very interesting colors hidden in here.

This is wonderful! With a quick glance I thought they were hats hanging on pegs....then...."oh wow!". Finder is right.....this is something the begs to be mounted and displayed.

There's a lot more color going on with old rusty things than first meets the eye.

Great rust....rust is one of my obsessions in both photography and 3d renderings...something about it.....agree, the color going on here, is fantastic..Im going to dig out some of my railroad stuff and send it to you......GREAT WORK

well I've always been a bit obsessed with rust too, & I love these close up, texture almost abstract things (I'm not very technical!) so this one does it for me.

Get that thing in a gallery! I've been just starting to learn about choosing matting colors and widths lately... It seems that matting and framing is a whole art in itself. Same photograph, different matting; and it looks like a whole different picture!

Thanks everyone! I hope all my friends at Renderosity have a safe and Happy New Year! (and don't go off the rails TOO much, just enough to have FUN!!) ;-)>

Great photo, mister ! Lovely form and colour, well seen.

I see that more of the members are obsessed with rusty metal surfaces. Me too. This one is a real beauty. Its funny, I want to tuch it, its a feeling in my hand, kind of longing. Wish you a Happy New Year too.

Now, this picture is from a digital camera, is it not so..? Either way and IMHO, the colored grains that form the picture distract me a bit as they interfere with the original colors of the rust. But, if the question is the composition, I have nothing more to say than that this is a great abstraction. How about a b/w version..? Very nice detail anyway... :)

You're right dorkusal, sorry 'bout that...it was taken in dim light (and the battery was low, so I didn't dare turn on the flash!) so I had to play with the levels and unsharp it a bit...which tends to add that distracting grain...personally I like the gritty feel...! :-)>
