Description

This is Rotterdam and what you are looking at is one of the most famous spots of this city. What you see here is two bridges, crossing a river called 'Nieuwe Maas'. In the middle you can see this island (called Noordereiland) where my daddy was born, but it all looked very different then... The bridge on the left was built in the 19th Century for the railways and is not used anymore. The railway now crosses the river by a tunnel. On the right you see another bridge, dark red painted. About 25 years ago it replaced a narrow bridge that crossed the river.
