Description

Daffodils I died the day we rode out of Michigan into Colorado into the dry, cracked earth of the mountains. Where Daffodils could never bloom. You pushed pink dust up your nose. Eyes glazed with speed, On the road, you would not touch me "defiled" you seemed to say. By the last bottle of rum with it's clear promise of penthouse poses. My white skin filthy in your cruel gray eyes. And I knew that Death was waiting comfortable in a Sheriff's wagon right past the next curve and I knew my love was a snake. Twisting in Death's hands, dying from the poison of Daffodils in March. Frosted with sugary lies. Their petals crushed staining my hands yellow. Katlisa 1991

What a sad and heartbreaking poem...the image is wonderful but seems to hold a touch of that sadness in it.
