Hey, go Speed Racer, go. I remember this anime very well. It was one of my favorites when i was a young kid. The car looks great!

Thank you, Arvanor and linda357! It was a tricky model since the various artists on teh show were not consistent with the car's form. I'm gathering references for one of my all time favorite silent-movie characters.

Great rendition of one of the two greatest cartoon cars of all time (the other would be the 1960's Batmobile). The Mach 5 had it all... circular saws that sprang out of the front, hydraulic jacks that allowed the driver to jump obstacles, and room for a chimp and a little boy to ride comfortably in the trunk. Fun image - thanks for posting.

At my current understanding of Carrara, this one was a REAL workout. I did all of it in the spline and boolean modeling modes. It was a nightmare. But I wasn't confident enough to begin vertex modeling.

Ah were have you been all my life!!! Aaaaa this is just a work of art! You have done the Mach 5 Justice I love it! You do know they have actualy built the Mach 5 for a upcoming live action Movie!! It is a PERFECT replica right down to the hubcaps! John Goodman is playing the father and man he looks just like him as does this young actor that's playing Speed!! Check out the rest of the cast at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0811080/

Awesome modeling! Very little recognition or comments go out to individuals that can do this level of work, and it really is a shame- so many comments go to individuals that simply pose other people's creations and I must admit complicity in this as well- but when someone can accurately model something like this- it really deserves more recognition, as it is a skill few have! Very, very nice work!
