Description
Well this is the SU-25 Frogfoot. this particular plane is a Czechoslovakian one with the frog. I thought this was the coolest paint scheme ever. The frogfoot is also known by a number of names. the Russians call it the rook a crow like bird that can land anywhere. They also call it the comb because with all the pylons loaded up it looks more like a comb than a plane. the Afghans called it the German plane because they felt the Russians could never be so efficient. This is the Russian equivalent of an A-10. It does not have the big gun just has a twin barreled 30mm gun but it can carry a lot and is smaller and can run on a variety of fuels including diesel. I like the look of it.
Had some fun with the research phase on this. This was quite a challenging model to make. (I found the 104 quite easy) I did a lot there are rivets visible on the bump map and you can see some here and there. The paint scheme is after an actual one. The frog drawn by hand then inked and scanned and colored in photoshop and finally cut and pasted to the plane map. Rendered in Bryce modeled in Wings. Textured in photoshop and painter pencil and pen. Postwork in photoshop.

This is so cool. Fantastic work. My only suggestion is that Russian planes have never heard of emission control... especially if they are running on diesel... they need a whole lot of smoke out of those engines. Please see my gallery contribution for an example.
