Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Better than comsume them literally :-)).. very nice image. I love those fungi.. tried to understand more of them, but that is not easy at all. Differences sometimes.. no... many times.. are very little.

Walks through the forest can be wonderous experiences if you are open to all that there is to explore -- as you obviously are Jan-Carel. Lovely photo of this fungal wonders. It is great fun to get low and see things from that perspective. Also, a very Happy Birthday to you my good friend!

Strange and interesting fungi. Nice view

Very bizarre fungi indeed. If you didn't touch it for yourself, I can tell you that they have a seriously rubbery texture, very strange-feeling. I don't know if you've heard this before, but mushrooms supposedly have something like 10 times the amount of neurotransmitters that the human brain has (per cubic centimeter). Have an awesome day my friend!

An intriguing image, Jan-Carel. I wish you a 'Happy Birthday' too. May the coming year truly exercise your sense of awe and wonder even more. I passed a garden, with lots of mushrooms in its front border, the other day. Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me. Typical. Regards, John.

We have similar fungi around here but they are bright red in color. However, I don't have a very good camera and the pictures I took of them don't look near as good as this. Excellent shot, as always!
