Description

Dokka asked through Lt. Dakk's headset, "Do you have a telepath, yet? We're losing sunlight on the surface." Lt. Dakk, the forensic expert of the 64th's Expedtionary Force sighed and answered softly, "Sir...the scheduled telepath is Kasaba, mate to the telepath we lost this afternoon. She's no good for surface use right now. Tall-White-Lady, the senior telepath, wishes to take her place. She is the most powerful, the only one with an actual cybernetic implant to boost her--" Dokka's voice cut him off, "Leiutenant! I know who she is. She was Water's mother. I would have thought she would be too shaken up to come as well?" Tall-Lady's cybernetic voice interposed into the radio-chatter, "Respects, Controller 13, Dokka Pekaro! I had a vision sent me by my dead son. He contacted the mind of the River King as it destroyed the lander. I have a need to investigate what it meant. I mean no ill-will toward the being known as the 'River-King'. Neither am I obsessed with my child's death, But I would like closure by helping recovering his body and investing what happened." Her voice was calm, filled with pain, and composure. Dokka paused and said gently, "Very well. I want to know what this 'vision' was. We can talk in the transport. Dakk, Tall-White-Lady--see you soon. Dakk are you finished with that Light-pipe assessment?" Dakk responded,"Yessir. Almost finished." Tall-White-Lady gestured toward the elevator to the floating city's hangar bay's. He smiled as he thought about the chance to go back down to the surface. He called over his shoulder to her, "Let me know if you need anything." Tall-Lady's voice broadcast from her cybernetic implant, "The winds of destiny are gathering. You are lost thinking of assignations and romance, and have trouble thinking of your mission." He whirled, furious. "HOW DARE you pry into my mind! That is illegal and--" She laughed from her throat, a parched, raspy sound like a hack-saw cutting plastic. She held up a hand. Her ghostly voice sounded out of the air, "I listen more acutely than I read minds. I know the rumors that some have told about you and 'Rag-Doll', Scav pilot 64-25515f! Am I wrong to think that, seeing the look on your face?" He blushed crimson and turned away. He muttered, "Damn! A telepath AND a good guesser! Well, that's not half fair" He could feel her luminous eyes bore into his back. "If life was fair, my son would still live."He fell silent as she waved at the elevator. He'd have to pick up his gear bag and change on the way down. Media is Poser 6. More grist for the mill!
