Description

The ticket booth for the Highway 18 Outdoor Theater between Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin. This is a modest but well-kept example of the classic 1950s American Drive-in Movie. Its extremely rural location keeps it safe from the predations of developers who would bulldoze it and replace it with yet another mini-mall. I'm thinking of recreating this as a 6' wide painting.... Tomorrow, the drive-in's sign.

I live in Canada and we used to have 3 or 4 of those in my City. We have one left. I love the dancing food clips during intermission, lol

Dave, Thanks for posting an image from my home town. I spent many weekends during my high school years at that drive-in back in the 1980s. We used to tap a quarter-barrel and party in the back row. We never saw much of the movies, but as long as we weren't making too much noise, the police left us alone. Alas.... the good old days! Thanks for rekindling some old memories! Now I have a grin on my face that my wife wouldn't understand. ;-)
