Description

April 19, 2006. Today I visited the southern part of our country, the province of Limburg. In a little town called Margraten (about 15 kilometers east of Maastricht) one can find the U.S. War Cemetery. Here you'll find 8301 graves of American WWII victims. An impressive number, an impressive place... War is about power, war is about money. But most of all: war is about people who die (soldiers and civilians). So....let's forget about war now and in future, but always remember the price we all paid in the past....

Makes you think and cry. I live in a place where more than half a million soldiers were killed; I've seen one grave with the names of 26000 men. No words can make up for that. I would advise people anytime to visit a place like this. It's a good thing you did, and showed us this image, to remember.
