The same 500m Medium cutter making a peaceful and routine scout of a Terran planet.

left hand side is just a blowout in white...Rest is good, tho you can make that sort of landscape easily with max btw ;) a closer look at the ship would be cool... maybe a different perspective?

Inshaala is right, the same effect can be created with the modifier called displacement. Add a picture (colar or black and white) and use a box or whatever shape, perhaps a plane would be best choice as a reference. Love the water and the smaal details of the double ringed planet.
