Description

...my impression of some sort of mangrove swamp, main focus being on the atmosphere work and tree design. Now, this is a very "free" interpretation, and after I made the render, I realized, after looking at images on the web, that it is not at all realistic in terms of matter-of-fact biology :) NEVER do that, I recommend. If so, take references BEFORE you build your scene. So the file had rested some days on my PC, I wasn't sure if I'd upload it. Well, part of the work is OK, I decided, so here it is... Vue5I render, Poser, Onyxtree for the tree models, Photoshop for a little touch-up. "Water Hyacinth" plants from Toucan - they never grow in a real mangrove, the water is too salty, and they don't have yellow flowers (so why did I change the colouring? Well, eeerh ... I thought they should be yellow). DAZ Treepython, CP Alligator. Dragonfly by "boroda" (needed some tweaking with the textures). Rendered in 1.5 hrs in "Broadcast", 1600x1200 origianl render. Comment etc. welcome on this one, thanks for your comments on my previous one. Have a nice day - Lars

heheh, it's called 'Artistic License' and I do believe you have one. Accurate or not, I like it. All those tangled roots, are kinda creepy But your modeling and atmosphere are superb!

Hi Lars, the fact it isn't actual means nothing in real terms, because no where in the world are you going to find a place that looks like this, because its original, your own work, if you want yellow plants excellent idea, that is the beauty of creating it yourself. Excellent modelling.

Love the atmo & those tree roots. The leaves in the foreground branches look odd, pixellated maybe. Excellent mood.

Trees which together with surprisingly beautiful roots have literally flied up above a bog, and crocodile slightly looking out from water create to all landscape improbable appeal. Bravo!!!

Even though these trees aren't true mangrove types, they look really awesome and I love the scene, colors and lighting. Well done!

"Part of the work is OK" - Like Phoey! The whole work is splendid! You don't have to re-create reality. The expression is the artwork. If you liked the the flowers yellow, then that's what they should be. I love this! I've never been in a mangrove, and might or might not like a real one, but I'm delighted to come home after a horribly rough day at work and enjoy some time in this delightful mangrove of yours. Thank you for sharing it with us and well done!
