Description

Ok, the votes are in, and the Colorized version with motion blur won. As I said before, I was not entirely happy with my previous 2 attempts. The first version had a low detail Dauntless that I purchsed. I then made my own, and made the second version. I was not happy with the lighting and the texture on the Dauntless. So, this is my final version. I used a camera, and tried to get an accurate attack angle, and a camera angle as if a plane was following it into it's dive. I decided to use some motion blur to simulate a difference in speed between the planes as one is farther in it's dive, and for side to side motion of one plane as opposed to the other. Besides, it looks better! lol I used film grain in Max, and reduced the colors to 16 colors in Paint shop to simulate colorized b/w film from WWII. Enjoy. If you want a larger, LCD monitor friendly version for a wallpaper 2480 x 1028. just email me at randywren@hotmail.com. I can sign it or not as you wish. As always it is a copyrighted image not to be re-distributed. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Excellent work! I love this POV. As you say, it is as if the second plane is following the first one into the dive attack. You have captured "the drama of the moment" here. The colourised effect works well, though I did prefer the BW version. Technically very well done. Thanks for this wonderful image!

You deserve an "excellent" just for getting the sea to look so good, a very good explanation of how and why you made it all work so well too!

Excellent results for your effort! It really does look like a vintage frame from historical archives. Good job!

Very good. Only thing off is the wake- there are waves from the rear of the ship which die off with distance, and waves from the bow which also die of with distance. Otherwise, almost a photo! Thanks for the enjoyment!
