Description

Bryce5.5 design: www.sazzart.com Model: Nori Model phototography: mjr@ranum.com Original Butty Macro pic: yesitis3 As mentioned earlier, some "improvement" critique had to do with perspective & shadowing. When I looked at this person's gallery; it was a "straight photo" one which is ok. But, also I think, goes a long ways to explain why certain individuals have attacked me in the past; eg, a lack of understanding the exact definition of 'Surrealism' as defined here on R'osity. Anyways, IMHO, Viewing of Art, like a lot of things, including Beauty, is subjective, and most critiques stem from viewer's subjectivity...Thanks for viewing & perhaps sharing YOUR thoughts. Sir Realism? Wasn't he a knight of the round table? Saz, the best thing about critics is that no one remembers them. One critic, I forget his name, called one political speech...an embarassment that will soon be forgotten. Kind of a neat way to describe the Gettysburg Address! So, Saz, critics of art are only commenting on their own narrow view of the world and are afraid to expand on their vision. Oh, Nori is hot!

@yesitis3: Yeah, you're the Richard, lol, ok; Surrealim according to 3 different dictionaries: Basically is, objects, people and/or worlds that only exist in the individual creator's mind; scenes recognizable as a specific; but NOT matching 'commonly' accepted reality - a good example: S. Dali's melting watches painting, or Escher's flying ducks, or smoking lizzards prints. Actually, IMHO, if we go strictly by the accepted definition of the 'S' word, it seems logical to me that at least 90%, if not all art is Surreal, if you get my drift?

I think they was so critical because of being jealous of your talent. define surrealism-my idea are objects or things that does not fit into scenarios as we know them. what is surrealism to one person maybe a different ball game for another, but whether they like art or not does not change surrealism. another excellent post Stepehen and if I am the Richard then thank you, if not thank you anyhow!!! after the fact thanks again. I never read the dictionary. is it still in print?hahaha

Your words are the reason I try not to be critical of what doesn't ring my bell. I'd rather comment on what I like about an image. If I don't like any of it I don't comment. If (big IF) artist is asking for suggestions I might give my one penny's worth. I view your posts, I like most. I like your insights. This one is typical Saz which is cool.
