Description

Excerpt of Galactic Archives Chapter "Myths and Legends - Tragedies" Star System μ - Aquilae There is an old story about a once far advanced culture on the second planet of this star. They had everything and their science was advancing to now unkown fields of technology. Their world was a little paradise in dark, cold space. They had only one little restriction. Their body were very fragile, so they never developed technologies to travel fast or even fly. They never reached their moon or even space. It is told, that in their past, their ancestors were almost wiped out by a huge asteroid. But they were lucky because the gravity of the moon prevented an impact and the asteroid vanished in space. They forgot to worry about it and their world lived in peace for centuries. But one day their astronomic monitoring systems detected a huge asteroid heading directly at their world. It was back. Scientific analysis quickly yielded the result, that the impact will extinct their entire culture... Desperately they started a worldwide research project to prevent the desaster, but they knew it was to late... ...the last of them, protected in shelters, saw the boiling oceans, the burning land and the sky turning to red, as the killer arrived... and all they could do, was to watch... Xlt colours and atmo! One can imagine the sun as the asteroid very well. As always I liked your story behind the image. Sad... but who knows? Maybe you'll find another great and unique civilisation somewhere out there. ;-)
