Those highlights on the brass and on the vases suggest flash was used but the detail in the glass is slightly burnt out. Does the digital master contain more that could be displayed by juggling the contrast? With this type of shot making a series of exposures (bracketing) is sometimes helpful. Another (devious?) method is to take two shots one exposed for the glass, and the other for the interior and then to mix the good parts of each in a "hybrid." You know all this, of course.
