The stuff of dreams? I can remember similar things from dreams I've had. Didn't consider the Douglas Adams aspect but cajolargo has a point perhaps :-D

the book is "Restaurant at the end of Universe", where customers have dinner admiring the point where Universe is collapsing - a must to read for scifi lovers, Douglas Adams' work is out of conformism (thanks Synapse for quoting Beksinski, I didn't know him, a true artist, and the site is fantastic)
