Description

This is an animal that lives among us that for the most part people missunderstand, I've been told many times that they are just another dog when in fact they are not, they are one step from being an animal that maybe needs to be in a zoo or only in the wild,I've been told that they have been bred to be man killers when I beleve that there is an acient acestral instinct that remains in them and refuses to be totaly tamed.and killing pretains to anything-because thats what carnivores doo DAH!I beleve that people should have to take a class or a course of some type before allowed to own one.-only because I very rarely ever incounter sombody that shows the animal enough respect and understanding to be it's handler.-or have the strength to know how to keep them undercontrol,or truly relize the danger they can present when not cared for properly -such as a good six foot fence.(chianlink dug down six inches in the ground at least),at this time there is really no such education available the facts are they are not a fluffy little fo fo dog that can be kicked around they are a very large and self thinking animal who is a true carnivore. I've been envolved in the breeding and raising of staffordshire terriors of the largest type for about fifteen years now.theres been times that I would run with up to five or six adults along mountain trails on private property. I have had in my care at times 11 adults , and have had to -alone- break up many fights.and I understand what that means.and I'm still to this day doing this. I find there company to be enlightening and enjoyable.when they are of your family and you are there handler they would give there life for you without hesitation.they possess my love and respect.this ones name was Rip he was shot because he had a skin disease in his older years and his owner for verious reasons felt it needed to be done. These dogs should never be encouraged to GET anything, except maybe a stick or ball.never take them into public without a leash, and a chain even a logging chain to keep the animal scured is not enough if the property that they are on is not. to those who may meet one and dont own one,and there isn't a handler present. -never stair them in the eye it ether shows fear or is a challenge, just take glanses, just ackowlege that you know they are there and ignore them if possible and for god sakes act like what your doing is what your suppose to be doing and where you are is where your suppose to be.and move in none threating ways.and Quitly try to leave the area with out looking back at the animal ,use your ears.Rip was a very loved copanion and I wasn't his owner and wasn't present at the time of his death.I still have dreams where we hang out.I love and miss him.

I know what you mean. i a painter and the back yard of this house I was to paint had a big wooded fence. I walk back there and open the fence and walked in. The next thing I knew I was face to face with this type of dog. He was there before I even saw him and he was one foot from me. I froze and looked at him ." OOOO what to do now???" And the gate was closed behind me. The owner came around the corner at that time and called him. I was ok. The owner of the dog was the house owner son and he came into visit his dad. They forgot to tell me anything. Later that day the dog got out of the 5 feet wooded fence and was find dead by the road about 1/2 mile. Car hit him. He was yound and was very good one
