Description

After a relaxing Sunday brunch with my Dad, I found a 1920s era gas pump on display right outside the restaurant! It's the kind of pump that would have stood outside the Pagoda gas station shown two days ago. See the glass cylinder at the top? The customer would tell the attendant how many gallons he wanted. The attendant used a manual pump to fill that glass cyclinder. Each marking was one gallon. When the desired amount was ready, the attendant used the hose to transfer the gasoline to the customer's tank. The last time I saw one of these in use was probably the mid-1960s in rural Ohio.
