Description
Early on a sunny Sunday morning in August, some years ago, I popped out to the corner shop for a paper. As I turned the corner, a wonderful site was waiting for me. The houses had no gardens and so the front doors opened right onto the street. This elderly man was sitting on his doorstep sewing a button onto a pair of trousers. The world was still sleeping really, it was one of those slow starting Sunday mornings and this man just summed it up
