Description

"You may have heard of jalopies, You heard the noise they make, Let me introduce you to my Rocket '88. Yes it's great, just won't wait, Everybody likes my Rocket '88. Gals will ride in style, Movin' all along. V-8 motor and this modern design, My convertible top and the gals don't mind Sportin' with me, ridin' all around town for joy. Blow your horn, Rocket, blow your horn!" -select Rocket 88 lyrics by Ike Turner (or is it Bill Haley?)

Another photo from the car show I attended. I considered cropping it in closer to the name, but liked the reflections in the fender so I kept it as is. To see the full view of the '62 Starfire and lots of other cars, you can visit these two Photography Forum threads HERE (1) and HERE (2). ----- Oldsmobile Starfire (1961-1966) A sporty and luxurious hardtop coupe and convertible based on the Olds 88. The Starfire featured interiors with leather bucket seats and a center console with floor shifter, along with a standard Hydra-Matic transmission, power steering and brakes (and power windows and seats on convertibles). It was powered by Oldsmobile's most powerful Rocket V8 engine, a 394

The usual Americanocentric BS. The 1949 Saab (http://www.philseed.com/saab92.html) was the first automobile with front wheel drive, popularized by the 1959 Mini and later. Built like an aircraft, and great in the snow. Bye, bye Miss American Pi R Squared, hehe.
