Description

Icebreaker "Krasin" (built 1916-1917) became famous for the rescue survivors of General Umberto Nobile's ill-fated dirigible Italy expedition to the North Pole in 1926. Now it is a museum and stays at Neva's embankment in St. Petersburg. Thanks for viewing. Olympus 5050.

Very cool shot and info. Is it ALWAYS so hazy in St. Petersburg? We have a St. Pete in FL, though it is usually sunny and clear there, heh heh. An image epic in size and detail, well done!

This really captures the mood of the scene. It's so nice to see pictures like this of things i'll never see in real life.

Fog along the river and this beautiful ship. What a wonderful sight. It is so nice that they have made use of the ship and made a museum of it rather than just scrap it and destroy the magnificent ship that it is. HUGS!!!
