Description

This is an example showing how postwork can improve a picture. Improvements : -paper background enhanced -correction of some skin flaws without losing too much detail Tools used : Pen tool / Quick Mask Mode / Gaussian blur filter Notice: no pixels were harmed during the creation of this photograph. :o) As usual, comments are welcome. Take Care! ps: to add some realism to this picture some shadows must be added to the floor, but for this exercise that wasn't necessary

Of course there are two sides to this: too much postwork can kill a picture. I don't like 'plastic' flawless skin, so I prefer the left image for the model, the right one for the background. But I must admit I know nothing about glamour photography ;-)

I see very little done to the model herself, but the background definatly needed to be cleaned up. Very good lesson to point out your talents and what it takes to make a good shot great. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the info! It took a couple of minutes of studying the images for me to see what changed, but now that I do see it, the difference is dramatic. The photo has been greatly improved in appearance, and it looks perfectly natural. Top notch work.

i like what you did to the back ground it does give your model a slight 3d effect. As for your model needing flaws put right WHAT FLAWS leave her as she is

If one looks at the two images slightly crosseyed, letting the two models merge, she is moved a little forward from the background.

i like the postwork more, seems to soften the edges, but can it remove clothes?

I prefer the before, because the after loose defenition, and too bright.

Good postwork, good photo -- but where are these "skin flaws" you speak of?
