Something I tried out back in '95: stereoscopic photography (taking two shots slightly offset and viewing them as a 3D composite) There are two ways of looking at these images. The first and most common way (which I can't do) is the "parallel" method where you stare at (and focus on) a point beyond the image. For this you need to concentrate on the left and centre of these 3 images. With practice, you should literally see the scene in 3D. The second way is to cross your eyes. Scroll along and concentrate on the right and centre images, crossing your eyes so they overlap. Don't do it for too long, it can strain your eyes and give you a headache! It's important you look at the right ones for the technique you're using or the depth will be reversed and it'll look seriously weird. Hope I've explained adequately. Anyone who used to look at those "magic eye" images will be able to do this as the principle is the same. The picture(s) were taken on the west coast of Scotland, by Loch Moidart and Castle Tioram. People commonly think of Scotland as a wet place where only walkers go on holiday, but if you get a nice sunny day you can enjoy views like this... Happy New Year to you all :) Jim
