Description
the yellow, I have tried to get for a long time. I believe it is Boisduval's YellowWing span: 1 1/2 - 2 inches (3.8 - 5.1 cm).
Identification: Upperside lemon yellow with black borders; each hindwing slightly pointed. Male forewing with weak "dog's head" pattern; hindwing with wide black border projecting into yellow ground. Female forewing with black at apex; hindwing with narrow black edge

I just love the brown one with its wings in the upright position. They look so other worldly.

I love butterflies and this is a beautiful array of them. It takes so much practice to get the right shot. Excellent Richard........

Nice captures Richard, especially the lower left one! Quite remarkable. At first glance I thought there were four butterflies in this collage, but then I realized the white one was actually a flower. Then I immediately got up and got some more coffee, to assist me in waking up, as slapping myself into consciousness just wasn't working well! Have a most excellent day my friend!

You must achieve so much contentment from studying nature Richard. I have noticed this in so many of your images. I envy your natural ability. Maybe it's time for me to back off and just "enjoy" or God given gift of nature. You just kicked this old fart into action Richard. Thank you my friend. Steve :o) V!

Wonderful! Love butterflies, and these are super. The little things are too fast for me, by the time my shutter closes they are across the field. Great job, especially the one on your back. HUGS!!

Ah, love the thrill of that, but be aware, walking behind your viewfinder might result in wet feet or worse, falling down. Gorgeous collage, very fascinating, Richard!

Wow I can't believe you took a picture of that brown one on your back without even seeing where it was exactly! It came out fantastic Richard! He looks huge in this picture and like he's almost the size of your shoulder...eeeks! I hope they don't grow them that large out there. The little yellow one is beautiful and I have actually seen one like the other brown one here in NY. :-) Excellent presentation and captures! :-) V
