Description

"Storybook happiness involves every form of pleasant thumb-twiddling; true happiness involves the full use of one's powers and talents." -John Gardner "Happiness is the absence of the striving for happiness." -Chuang Tzu "Happiness is a direction, not a place." -Sydney Harris "Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go." -Oscar Wilde

The pudgy little bluebird of happiness wanted to stop by and join me in wishing all the May babies a very happy BIRTHDAY MONTH! Some of them I know and count as friends include Jeroen (Enmos), Matt (RedundantlyAbundant), Ilona (vlaaitje), David (OldFaithful), Michelle (Michelle A.), and Danny (danob). I'm sure I missed at least a few of you so let me know and I'll add you to the list! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of you! -----

"...Be like I, hold your head up high Till you find a blue bird of happiness. You will find greater peace of mind Knowing there's a blue bird of happiness. And when he sings to you Though you're deep in blue, You will see a ray of light creep through. And so remember this, life is no abyss, Some-where there's a blue bird of happiness..." lyrics from The Bluebird of Happiness by by Edward Heyman and Harry Parr Davies

...and happiness is a Supersize order of fried earthworms, right? This bluebird looks quite content right there on the gound -- I am sure it would have difficulty getting airborne again!

You have such wonderful posts. Packed full of all kinds of quotes, stories, information. I truly enjoy viewing your work. I do have a blue bird who drinks from our birdbath all winter long. Wonderful bird. One of my most favorite. Thank you for sharing this. V

The almost obligatory pursuit of happiness is one of the biggest causes of depression and broken relationships in present days. Funny, but it's true... I read this in some sociological study... That's why I can relate most to the Chuang Tzu quote you mentioned. But what a cute happy little bluebird! ;-)
