Description

1>Reworked the moon to be less noisy. 2>Amended the POV 3>Added the MJT Cyber Stations 4>Added an attempt at creating a "transport" beam. ...Still nowhere near happy with this:( The MJT Cyberstation needs materials badly. The POv is less dramatic but removes the bland foreground. The moon looks better but not very adventurous. The Transport beams were created with Mojo Primitive cylinders. The tiled rendering is apparent & the cylinder is a wrapped material & therefore has a seam thats shown by the material. Added a glow but it has little effect, really needs to be done with Volumetrics & Radiosity - Not capable to date :( I may do a ported version in Vue 5i & compare the differences. I maybe critical of my own works but Ive not given up just yet! Id welcome both positive & negative feedback & suggestions. TFV&C W

Ive just realised another problem with the Transport beams was that I used 1D Sttep Steps & therfore the end of the step adds to the cylinder seam issue when rotated at 75. I should have stayed with 90 so I would have had concentric waves:( Doh!

I agree a very beautiful rendering in its own right. And the colours are exquisite.

My only criticism would relate to the Cyber Stations, they are perhaps too shiny and bright. I like a lot the mood in this work, very sci-fi/mystical.

I still like the moon a lot....and as you say the lower POV helps the foreground...Cool work with the "beams" Woz....Mats for the cyberstation??..have you thought of trying images (as bitmaps) or even a few mixed together??....it might produce a decent effect...^_^....

Ive now moved away from thsi panetfile as I cant get the results athat I want to achieve & the output looks amatuerish (despite the fact that the FG used is actually quite complex). I still have the planet & may return to the technique at a later date.

My problem with this image is that the human figures are all the same (cut and paste). Shouldn't there be variation in the figures? If not the placement of just one figure, (perhaps the figure front and center) would be much more dynamic. Other than that one quibble this is excellent work, and reminiscent of the Ace sci-fi paperbacks of the 60's.
