The P-38 was manufactured in greater numbers than any other U.S. fighter plane of the WWII era. Sadly, very few of them survived the scrapyard to remain to this day. Only a couple examples are still flying. The P-61 fared even worse. Terrific illustration of these twin boomed beauties!
