Description

My son email me saying he miss the art . I just been posting photos lately. This have been on my hard drive for some time. So this is for you son. Why I made this? Because I got rip off that why. This man came up to me and say his wife and kids was in a broken car and he had to get to work at 7p.m. for he was a night guard at a local hospital. He give me his phone number and all. I give him a ride to the auto part place and give him $10 to get the auto part. He say he had a ride back. So I left. I came back to the auto parts store in about 20 mintures to see if he need a ride. I walk in and ask the people there and they say he did come in and ask for the part but change his mind and walk out. Phone number is wrong and he did not work at the hospital. nd he told me he was going to pay me back. I do not mind helping people out but I do not like to get rip off too. Plus I know the money most likely in the hands of the drug dealer now. One time I give this black man $40 I did not know him at all but he give me a sad story so I give him the money. I learn he went to a drug dealer and he OD on the drugs and he is dead now. I do not blame myself but I got to watch out who I help. These people need to be in the movies : they so good of a artors. thanks for every thing

with all the pan handlers in Dallas, I have heard all the stupid stories. one of their favorite is"I got stuck over here and I am trying to catch the bus home, but I do not have the money". another is " I ran out of gas just down the street and I am in a hurry because I am afraid the police will tow my car, can you help me with some gas. I say sure, where is your car? they say just down the street, and I say I do not see a car. oh! it is around the corner. sure it is buddy. this is funny that you posted this today because I plan posting tomorrow an old lady that lives on a bus stop in front of a store. she does not panhandle, but people do give her money

As a bartender I heard hundreds of stupid, cheap con lines. I agree with Hopalong, help out the sincere and tell them to help somebody else when they can. I've been at both ends of that scene. Great picture and message, Jock!

I think I found a way to help and not get ripped off. Put a couple of those $1 coupons you can buy at McDonalds and give that instead of cash. If they're hungry, all is well. If they want drugs or booze at least they will have a full stomach because of your kindness.

Reach out and touch, somebody's hand. Make it a better world if you can. You and we all have tried some time or another to help. We did our best but don't get caught to many times. Aloha

Charity starts at home ! sure giving is kool, but in future, take it all with a grain of salt. The people who really need help, NEVER ask for it ! just remember that. ~Cheers~ :o)

well it was only 10 dollar , i was once conned out of 50 guilders, the story was he left his bag in the train, most of the money from petty crimes goes to the drugdealer as you say , so maybe its timeto ripp them back. the art work looks like inside a military tent in the dessert.

You have a big heart Jocko, but it is true, there are some really bad people out there that will steal from you if they can. I am very careful about giving help to strangers, it's sad, but that is the world we live in...great photo!!

You are obviously a very nice person I wish this hadn't happened to you. There is an old saying in England what comes around turns around. It came around you gave a drug dealer $40 what turns around he is now dead. You get the picture? It sounds harsh but the saying I believe to be true. The picture for you son is fabulous V Cathy xoxoxo

jocko500 blog? hehe jk - In the end jocko all that matters is you did help and yes they might have ripped you off but you still gave when someone asked. So imo that makes you not only a good person but you win in the long run friend :)

Cool image! I agree with xceiverx! Continue to do as your heart feels is right. One day it may be someone in real need! And if you did not help, because your heart was hardened by the rip-off-artists, then you would really feel bad!

It is very disappointing to come face to face with the dishonesty in the world, and it's even worse when you are such a generous, caring person like yourself. Thank goodness the good people outnumber the bad ones. xooxoxox's Jock! V (: ...oh!...Yes, I love this!!!

Nice concept and well done surreal work. It is the most wonderful to help an embarrassed person. Your conscience is splendid though it is the unpleasant one that is cheated by the person.

There are a lot of storytellers and street performers out there that you need to watch out for. The picture makes me think of the classic painting with Adam reaching for the hand of God by Da Vinci.Good work.

I got you beat (for stupidity). I loaned a girl/mother $3000 to buy a car, so she could keep her job, so she could keep her kids. She was a drug addict on re-hab. She said she would pay me back. By the time I paid off the loan with interest.. it was $4500. Then she got in an accident with that car and I found she had never registered the car in her name. She told the police the car was borrowed from me, that I was the owner. Then she took the car and kids and left the state. Leaving me to fight my insurance company, collection agencies, DMV and court dates with loss of work to appear. All settled now but never saw a single penny for the car and she has dissappeared. After all I done for her, she tried to pass the costs of her accident (was her fault) to me then stole the car anyway. (steal=take without paying for it) $10.. wish my lesson was that cheap. Anyway.. cool pic Jock! Dave :^)

Jocko, you dear man, sorry he was not truthful but the next person may be. Giving and kindness to our fellow man is what is important in the long run. You may touch someone's life who really needs it. Someday you may and I believe that it will be answered because of your generosity. Awesome picture!
