Description

This is another complete illustration based on a old photograph. around eight hours work using photoshop and freehand. (this is not simply a recolouring it's a complete redraw based on the photo) Comments and critisisms welcome as it'll only help me to improve in future ;) BTW: this is who it is.... Noor Inayat Khan was a descendant of Indian royalty, brought up in the Sufi tradition of non-violence. Born in Moscow in 1914, she was brought up in Paris and London and was a dreamy young woman who loved music and writing children's stories. But there was another side to Noor; she was the first female radio operator to be sent into occupied France during the war, and single-handedly did the work of six people as the Nazis closed in on her network. She was eventually captured but attempted escape within minutes and in ten months of brutal interrogation she didn't give the gestapo a single piece of information; they didn't even discover her name.
