I must have chosen Renaissance Man as a career option. I paint, draw, sculpt, write, and do photography.
Or put less charitably, "jack of all trades, master of none."

The joy of the creative life is there are no standards, no goals, no limits. Just do whatever you feel like doing to the fullest extent of your skills, facilities, faculties, and creativity.
Of course, it helps if everything is on hand, working, the Muse is making regular deliveries, and you're not tuckered or psyched out from your day job (or in my case, the overnight job).
I've been exhibiting at SF convention artshows since '76.
Starting in '86, I've been writing supplements for role playing games. You can find a list at http://www.pen-paper.net/rpgdb.php?op=showcreator&creatorid=2327
The best known is THE ULTIMATE POWERS BOOK, a treatise on comic book superpowers. You can find it on EBay or download it from the web.Â
As for photography, I'm using a 1976 Minolta SLR, a pair of 1.3 Mp Sanyo digital cameras, and an 8 Mp Canon S5. My computer is a HP Pavilion 4550Z, vintage 1999.
And I have webbed toes.
So does Dan Ackroyd, Madeline Stowe, and one of the Dixie Chicks. Ackroyd and I share the same attitude, "The toes prove I'm a mutant."

I think you've got a number of Non-U.S. fans or fans that are less than about 45. Every American Kid knew all about the Weiner Mobile and Little Oscar when it first appeared. I somewhere have a Weiner Whistle that I got from Little Oscar when my Dad took me to first see the Weiner Mobile when I was about 6 or 7 in the late fifties or early sixties. It was impressive in the commercials on TV but you only saw it in black and white. When you saw it in person, coming down the street in its bright red and yellow colors, everyone would just go wild with excitement!!! Then Little Oscar (a "midget" - we weren't politically correct enough back then to call him a "little person") would park and give out the wiener whistles while the supermarket would give out Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs during the promotion! Those were the days!!! Excellent Shots!!! Thanks!!!

That is just toooooo much. I think I saw one live way back when... not much cause to send one to a small town in PA.

Thanks for the info, GreenSat. It occured to me as soon as I read Isacos' comment that I was forgetting what an international forum Redo is. For those elsewhere, Oscar-Mayer is an America meatpacker specialing is hotdogs/frankfurters, bologna, sausage, and precut sandwich meat. In the 1950s, they had a two-prong advertising campaign that burrowed into the America popular culture. One was the fleet of WeinerMobiles that traversed the country, as GreenSat described. The other was That Jingle-- "Oh I wish I was an Oscar Mayer weiner/ That is what I truly wish to be-ee-ee/ 'Cause if I were an Oscar Mayer weiner/ Everyone would be in love with me!"

Oh!!!!!!!!!!! Fun stuff!!!! I remember seeing them on television, but never saw one up close! How cool!!!! And to think there are two versions, cool!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!

Oh my goodness! I have had the Oscar Mayer Weiner song stuck in my head for DDAAYYSSS Thanx for the refreshment :-S Great job :-P
DavidEMartin
Here's the antidote, Lashia, the inevitable kid parody that actually got incorporated into an Oscar Mayer tv spot-- "Oh I'm glad I'm NOT an Oscar Mayer weiner/ That is what I'd never want to be-ee-ee/'Cause if I were an Oscar Mayer weiner/ There would soon be nothing left of me!"

Ahhh... only in Wisconsin!!! Thanks Dave!

I swear the old model was the one I saw in front of the neighborhood supermarket when I was a kid - had to be circa 1961. Got my Wiener Whistle that day from a guy in an Oscar Meyer ball cap, but no free frankfurter or Little Oscar. David, for a young guy, you certainly know how to capture the 50s & 60s.

I've scene the WB, and I love it:) Fun pictures:)
