Description

this is a visual for my comment to "sazzat's" Illegals Passage. I mentioned that in the news, on TV, commentators everywhere keep commenting on how "America is a country where everybody is an immigrant or decsended from immigrants...." and I wonder if anybody ever asked the Hopi, or Navajo, or Apache, or Sioux hwo they feel about being called immigrants. They've been here for thousands of years so I think that maybe they pass the non-immigrant test. What do you all think? all comments, even the nasty ones, are welcome (p.s. I'm currently learning Poser 6 so I won't post anything in it until I have it fully sussed out. Until then, I'll continue to use Poser 3 which I know very well -despite what some people might think- and photography which I have been doing for decades.)

I agree. I'm sure you will get a few negative comments from the usual suspects here.

There is nothing "negative" about a simple fact. Fact: The "native" peoples of the Americas ARE decended from immigrants. It is a matter of historical fact that those immigrants "walked" here, from Asia, across the Aleutian Land Bridge, between thirty and forty thousand years ago. So, as far as immigration, it's not a question of "if" it's only a question of "when". It's not about the "people". It's about the law. Understand: We have the right to expect obedience to law. Deny that, and you deny the rights of legal citizens. Whether or not you know it, THAT'S what you advocate. Tell me WHY I should allow that.

I guess then that everybody in world, except for the people of Africa, where homo erectus and our other ancestors came from is an immigrant. Immigration is a law not an ideal. African slaves were not immigrants, instead forced to come where they were taken. Therefore, their descendants are by law, not descended from immigrants, but like the First Nation People (oh, I know that term is going to raise hackles, like I care), are true Americans. The first white settlers didn't immigrate either, but just simply plunked themselves down and said "this is ours". Historically, if people want to get into it, the first non-native people in the new world were Vikings (Lance aux Meadows, Newfoundland). How far back do you need to go to make the determination as to where ancestral rights go. There were people living on Taiwan before the Chinese escaping from the mainland made it ashore. The native Taiwan culture has now been subsumed by the "invaders" from the mainland. but that's just me, like I said, all comments are welcomed, so thanks to turner and jangled for taking the time.
