The fantasy and mythological watercolor art of Lisa Hunt.
   BIO:
Lisa started drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil in her hand. She spent her childhood sketching out the stories that she composed in her head. She loved fairy tales and mythology and derived many of her ideas from universal themes contained in such stories. She has been a professional artist all of her life, with many of her publications reflecting her interest in the feminine divine and the universal themes that are often connected with goddess mythology. Today, Lisa still beckons to the muses to create fantastical environments filled with warrior women, beasties of all shapes and sizes and other elements of her psyche. Lisa is the artist of three tarot decks; Shapeshifter Tarot, The Celtic Dragon Tarot, Animals Divine Tarot and most recently Fantastical Creatures Tarot (U.S. Games Systems), her fourth tarot deck. She is currently hard at work on another (to be announced).
Over the years she has illustrated numerous products including collectible gaming cards, book covers, interior book illustrations, magazines, calendars and a co-authored children's book. Her work has garnered awards and was chosen for inclusion in "The New Masters of Fantasy 2003": a collection of the year's best science fiction and fantasy artwork sponsored by Epilogue. Lisa has begun work on another collaborative tarot project with her friend D.J. Conway. It is projected to be published in early 2007 by U.S. Games. She is also the author/illustrator of Celestial Goddesses (Llewellyn: 2001) showcasing her intense interest in Goddess mythology. Her home on the web is Lisa Hunt Art -- feel free to visit any time!

She seems too beatific for the vengeful Hera, (at least in the androcentric universe of the Greek pantheon). There are other views, however; I'm sure she's correct for the New Age.

Hey, if you were married to a philandering jerk like Zeus, you'd be vengeful too. Very nicely done. I'd've sworn this was colored pencil.

Very find control of the medium, well composed, and gentle colouring.

Very nice work!

Very beautiful. Great color scheme and Hera looks awesome. I think the cow is not quite correct, though. The head seems off, mainly around the forehead and the eyes, and the back portion that shows looks very . . . bland, I guess. Oh, well. Anyways, great job. I really like this piece.

Superb image.

I'm deeply impressed by your paintings. I've seen lots of water colour images and they almost always look smeared and runny. Had you not indicated that you use water colours, I'd never have known. Outstanding.
