Ah, the love of an elf and human... ^^ I had SO much trouble with the lights on this... I rendered it a thousand times at least. When I rendered with shadows on, the glow of the light disappeared from them and the floor. When I rendered with shadows off, it looked like they were floating above the ground... So I ended up doing one of both and blending them together, same with the close-up of the hands, then lots of post work...
