Description

Green Winged Orchid (Orchis Morio) - A few inches high this wild orchid is not as exotic as some of the bigger tropical ones, yet I think just as beautiful. I discovered this one in a meadow near my home when taking my new macro lens out for the first time today. I went out hoping to get bug and butterfly pics but it was cold and rather dull. This charming flower now in serious decline in many parts, brightened my day. I hope it does the same for you. Many thanks for viewing and any comments left. Richard.

What a beautiful and unusual orchid.I've never seen one like that before. It almost looks like a hyacinth,or a little lupine...Such a shame it's in decline. You did a wonderful job with this,Richard. It looks somewhat 3D on my monitor.Congrats again on your new macro lens. You are doing fabulous things with it!Hope you are having a lovely weekend.-M :^)
