Description
I don't know how many of you guys remember reading Classics Illustrated comics, but old farts like me thrived on them. One of my favourites was the War of the Worlds edition they did. Number 124. Great art, although the Martian machine didn't look any where near how H.G.Wells described them. Be that as it may, this image will always be the definitive Martiam machine to me. Of course, in Rhino and Flamingo.

Absolutely wonderful. That issue was always my favorite, and I always envisioned the Martians in that form. Jeff Wayne's music WOTW had exquisite music (and narration by Richard Burton) and his cover illustration for the CD was also stunning. But Classics Illustrated imprinted me first.

Absolutely unforgettable-even after all these years.Beautiful version of the machine.I also liked the Verne stories they did.

Likewise...I am one of those 'old fans', and until I saw the illos that accompanied the original penny-dreadful printings of Well's classic, the CI version was THE tripod that roamed through my head.... Glad to see your tribute to the classics of our youths...

That was my fave CI issue. Nice rendering. Looks like it would make a fine collectible for some machining shop to produce.
